What They Say About Us
Frequently Asked Questions
About the Program
What is Genstarkids?
We are an after-school learning program that helps children grow into curious and confident learners. We achieve this through engaging, hands-on, and project-based learning tailored to their unique personalities. Along the way, they build English communication and 21st-century skills that spark a lifelong love of learning and prepare them for a brighter future.
How is Genstarkids special?
We go beyond traditional education by blending Oxford and Cambridge curriculum standards with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) scale-aligned English, creative projects that encourage curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking, alongside personality mapping. This unique approach helps children develop not only strong language skills but also confidence, creativity, resilience, and leadership.
At what age can my child join?
Children can start as early as 2.5 years old and continue until age 12, with different levels tailored to each developmental stage.
What will my child learn?
Every term, your child will grow in three key areas:
- Communication, particularly in English, where we implement the Oxford and Cambridge curriculum standards using the CEFR scale.
- Cognitive, focusing on the 21st-century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy.
- Character, social-emotional skills such as confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.
How will Genstarkids understand my child’s learning potential?
Every child learns differently, so we start by mapping their aptitude and talents using the Holland Code personality assessment method, which is the RIASEC framework (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional). This helps us understand your child's strengths, interests, and learning style from the beginning.
With this insight, we personalise the learning experiences through projects, English communication, and collaboration, so your child develops in ways that match their natural potential while also exploring new skills.
What learning journey will my child go through?
Our learning journey is divided into 5 levels, designed to match your child’s age and stage of development:
- Nova Stars (2.5–4 years old)
- Rising Stars (4–6 years old)
- Guiding Stars (6–8 years old)
- Shining Stars (8–10 years old)
- Rock Stars (10–12 years old)
At every level, children build confidence through projects, portfolios, and assessments that highlight measurable progress in English communication, cognitive growth, and character development.

What will my child experience in one term of the programme?
Each term cycle (11 weeks) is tailored like a journey, so your child is always exploring, creating, and showing progress. Here’s how it works:
- Learning Cycle Orientation (Week 1)
We start with a quick English check and goal-setting, so your child (and you) know what to expect.
- Self-Discovery Project (Weeks 2–4)
Your child will dive into their first project, exploring topics they’re curious about while building their very first portfolio.
- Exploration Project (Weeks 5–7)
Now they go deeper by trying new ideas, solving problems, and letting their creativity shine through hands-on projects.
- Enhancement Project (Weeks 8–10)
Here, your child will team up with others to work on collaborative projects that strengthen communication, teamwork, and confidence.
- English Assessment (Week 11)
The cycle ends with a presentation and showcase. You can see how much your child has grown, not just in English, but in confidence, critical thinking, and creativity.

Learning & Progress
How do Genstarkids measure progress?
We measure the progress of each child through:
- English assessments are conducted every term.
- Project portfolios (stories, presentations, research).
- Annual personality and interest updates.
Who are the teachers?
Our teachers are specialists in early childhood and primary education, with backgrounds that include English literature, psychology, and soft skills development. They bring together academic expertise and a nurturing approach, making sure every child receives not only strong guidance but also personalised care.
How big are the classes?
Class sizes are kept small to ensure personal attention for each child:
- Nova & Rising Stars: max 8 students.
- Guiding Stars: max 10 students.
- Shining & Rock Stars: max 12 students.
How often are classes held?
Children attend two sessions per week, each lasting 90 minutes, designed to balance guided teaching with personal discovery.
How does Genstarkids help with confidence and character?
We help through engaging methods that let children learn by doing and expressing themselves:
-
Cross-curricular Learning
Our learning combines 2-4 subjects to make learning effective.
-
Project-based Learning
Working on real projects that encourage teamwork and creativity.
-
Inquiry-based Learning
We use a student-centred approach that encourages asking questions and exploring ideas to develop curiosity and critical thinking.

Will my child receive certificates?
Yes. Children receive skill badges and certificates every 6 months to mark milestones in communication, cognitive skills, and character growth.
When your child reaches the Rock Stars level, they will also receive an aptitude assessment of their talents and interests. This helps map out their future learning pathway and guides you in supporting their potential.
Do you give homework?
We believe learning should happen through joy and engagement, not pressure. We don’t give traditional homework, but we provide home connections, short reviews parents can do at home to check their child’s understanding of the lesson.
How are parents involved in the learning journey?
Absolutely! Parents played a big part in the child’s growth. To support this, we give each parent access to our own Learning Management System to monitor:
- Weekly updates on progress.
- Monthly parenting seminars.
- Quarterly portfolio reviews and reports.
- Annual character and aptitude assessment result.
